Las Vegas New Year's Eve 2025: Fireworks & Events
New Year's Eve celebrations are a time to be in Las Vegas. In fact, each year, more than 400,000 people are expected at the New Year's celebrations on the Strip and in Downtown, which will be pedestrians for a few hours. The fireworks will be launched at midnight. Below is a list of places where you can watch the 2025 New Year's Eve fireworks in Las Vegas and other New Year's Eve events in Las Vegas.

New Year’s festivities are not new. Ancient inscriptions indicate that they were held in Babylon as early as the third millennium B.C.E. The celebration, which was observed in mid-March, was crucial. The Babylonian new year celebration lasted 11 days and included sacrifices, processions, and fertility rites.
For a time, the Romans too began their year in the month of March. But in 46 B.C.E., Emperor Julius Caesar decreed that it should begin on the first of January. That day was already dedicated to Janus, the god of beginnings, and now it would also mark the first day of the Roman year. The date changed, but the carnival atmosphere persisted.
LAS VEGAS STRIP - FIREWORKS
The 2025 Las Vegas New Year's Eve fireworks are once again scheduled to be launched from the rooftops of several hotels. There will be choreographed music to popular hits while fireworks will be fired from the rooftops (south to north) of the nine following hotels:

. Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino
. Resorts World Las Vegas
. The STRAT Hotel, Casino & SkyPod
. Treasure Island Las Vegas

The Las Vegas Strip Fireworks will last approximately 8 minutes and feature several thousand fireworks explosions, choreographed for an exhilarating musical and visual performance. The Rio Hotel will host the command center.
LAS VEGAS STRIP - ROAD CLOSURES
- The I-15 exit ramps at Flamingo will be closed at 5:30 p.m. in both directions.
- Las Vegas Boulevard will be closed from Spring Mountain Road to Tropicana Avenue, beginning at 6:30 p.m.
- The Strip will be completely closed to all vehicle traffic from 8 p.m.
Restrictions for pedestrians:
- There are several restrictions on what items you can and cannot bring to New Year's Eve celebrations. Glass, strollers, and coolers are all prohibited. The only bags allowed are those with dimensions smaller than 12x12x6 inches.
